Exciting opportunities are available for qualified Gastroenterologists (or General Physicians with a subspecialty interest in Gastroenterology) who want to make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and supportive team. Positions for Gastroenterologists are immediately available across New Zealand. 

We are looking for clinicians who are passionate about delivering quality care to our patients.

 

To work as a Gastroenterologist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand.  Practitioners need to meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. Salary and benefits

Senior Medical Officers receive 6 weeks of annual leave and 12 paid public holidays, giving you time to explore our beautiful country and raise a family in our diverse communities. Along with your base salary as a Senior Medical Officer, you will have an annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance of NZ $16,000 (pro-rated for part-time employees), reimbursement of your registration and practising certificate fees and your professional indemnity insurance is covered by Health New Zealand. 

Senior Medical Officers receive a base salary relative to their level of experience. 

 

·       Medical Officers annual salaries range NZ $142K - NZ $210K plus allowances

·       Medical Specialists annual salaries range NZ $185K - NZ $267K plus allowances

 

Additional allowances are paid on top of base salary and vary due to location and service.
