Pharmac Message on Mesalazine Tablets

From 1 July 2025 Pharmac listed Mesalazine 1600mg tablets, Asacol brand.

  • Due to the current shortage of mesalazine 400mg tablets please consider prescribing mesalazine 1600mg for patients that are taking a 1600mg dose.

  • This is a Section 29 (unapproved) medicine.
